Overgrowth on a commercial site is a problem that grows by the season. Branches over a car park, a boundary that has disappeared under brambles, sightlines at a junction blocked by a hedge, or a plot that cannot be used at all. We clear it back and, where it needs to stay managed, keep it that way.

Clearance is often the first step of something bigger. At Holbeck, a tree surgeon cleared the overgrown trees and dense vegetation from a plot before we demolished the old walls, graded the site, and fenced and surfaced it as secure parking. Because we also do the groundworks, fencing and surfacing, the site is finished rather than left as a cleared patch of ground.

Shaping and pruning keep trees healthy and safe without taking them out: lifting a crown over a footpath, reducing growth near a building, or cutting back from overhead lines and signs.

Questions we get asked.

Do we need permission to remove a tree?

Sometimes. A tree covered by a Tree Preservation Order needs the council's consent before work, and in a conservation area the council must normally be given notice first. If you are not sure, check with your council before any work is booked, and we can help you find out.

Can you clear vegetation in the spring and summer?

Often, but nesting birds are protected by law, so clearance during the nesting season needs a check first. If a site needs clearing, it is worth booking it outside the busiest nesting months where the programme allows.

Can you clear a whole overgrown plot?

Yes. From a single overgrown boundary to a whole plot that needs bringing back into use, including tree removal, scrub clearance and taking the green waste away.

Do you cover our area?

We work from two offices, our head office at Hunslet in Leeds and a second in Manchester, and between them they cover a band straight across the country: the North West, all of Yorkshire and the Humber, and the north Midlands down to Stoke, Derby and Nottingham. That is our day-to-day patch and most of our work is in it. Beyond that we regularly work in the North East, Cumbria and the Central Belt, and down through the wider Midlands, East Anglia and the South East, and we have delivered projects as far as Bristol.
