Identified damp issue caused by surface water running along gable end of retail unit.

Removed existing rotten floor and joists. Installation of new joists, floor and laminate to match existing. We also treated all timbers in the basement and cleared out vents to encourage air flow.

Turned this round in 48 hours ready for the tenant to continue trading.

Preventative works then carried out to the gable end with the installation of an ACO drain to catch excess surface water.

Other works included the repairing of rotted elements to the shopfront façade and redecorating.

Overview of Works

  • Clear Shopfront floor and apply appropriate dust protection throughout.
  • Remove all timber elements to the floor and replace like for like.
  • Replace wooden vinyl floor with like for like.
  • Return items in shop to original layout and carry out thorough clean.
  • Cut out ACO drain channel and tie into storm drain.
  • Replace rotted timbers to shopfront façade and apply undercoat to new elements.
  • Redecorate entire shopfront in like for like paint colour.
